Spinning the Wheel of Doom
What hunt might fate determine?
It began with thirty adventurers gathered at Yew Gate, blades sharpened, arrows notched and pets at the ready. The destination: Wherever the fates decided. What followed was over two hours of glorious chaos and many death robes.
The Wheel of Doom was preloaded with 18 different possibilities, including everything from Peerless encounters to Fel Champs.
The first spin of the wheel saw the intrepid adventurers heading off into the lair of the fat one known at Paroxymus. The remaining spleens were carved from the Putrifier, salve was slathered on and the battle commenced. In the end, two groups battled to victory. While no swamp dragon dropped as loot, the battle was a good warm up for the next spin of the wheel.
The second spin saw us heading off for a battle with the Brood Mother spawned from a Super Massive map in the Malas facet. This encounter saw the brave hunters barely working up a good sweat. Even if Steve DID gate in on top of the spawned nest.
Our third stop on fate's wheel led us to Justice shrine where we battled everything it could throw at us for that elusive title of The Just. After the last foe fell, we journeyed into Terort Skitas for the backdoor into the Chamber of Virtues where those who qualified obtained the coveted green tabard.
Our final stop on the wheel, after some mechanical assistance, was to face the mighty foe known as the Harrower. The hunters definitely amped up the chaos for this one! Luckily Steve was able to find the Harrower in the depths of Terra Keep while Kaz and Taylor guided the party to the battle. If everything worked as planned, it wouldn't be a Friday Night Hunt and this encounter proved that rule. As we know with Fel encounters, there is always friendly fire so, of course, we had several people go grey, unintentional kills were delivered, tentacles spawned in a super hard to reach location, new changes to the encounter resulted in also fighting the giant meatballs which threw nasty energy fields at the hunters, and any number of other challenges.
In the end, however, our hunters were, as always, victorious! They walked out with new Spoils of War, several 25 stat scrolls and bodies, mostly in one piece.
Upon finally returning to Yew Gate to end the evening, the hunters rolled for distribution of six 25 stat scrolls as well as the awarding of the coveted FNH Death Robe trophy. Our grumpy struggle bus drive Slug managed a feat never before seen when he rolled a ONE on a 100 sided dice! William was this week's death robe champion and is starting to gather quite the collection of those trophies.
All in all, a fantastic legendary night. Thank you to everyone who came out to play and see you next Friday.
